Disrupt The Surge kicks off its record label with the inaugural release by techno prodigy Illiya Korniyenko, who debuts as the first artist on the imprint with his pounding Gumball 3000 EP.

The first track Gumball 3000 is a straight-up and hard-hitting acid banger complimented with psychedelic elements and uniquely arranged percussion. The second track West to East displays a brilliant blend of dreamy atmospheric pads and tripped-out acid over a heavy driving beat.

On the flip side, hard acid techno and rave duo Ad Nauseam from Melbourne, Australia, focus on the dark, dirty, and more ominous aspects of the original while driving it into harder-edged, filthy, and twisted acid techno territory with their trademark mid-'90s rave-inspired style they have become known for. To finish the EP, hard techno maestro SWART delivers a modern-day and industrial-edged remix of the original using heavy distorted kicks and a more unique and mind-bending take of the original acid pattern.

The EP is released on transparent green vinyl and on all digital platforms.

I wish that "Mist Duck" would have alternate lyrics, maybe something like a description of a beautiful full moon glimmering over a lake, whilst a fluffy brown tabby cat is washing his paws nearby, his motor producing loud purrs. However, Perc made such an absolute killer job (only to be expected!) with this remix that it's become a guilty pleasure. It doesn't make me want to bounce on any fists any time soon, but the dance floor is a different story that nobody could resist! 🫖 🧞‍♀️ Sara-Jayne Arnold
